YES believes that meaningful
and sustained exposure to the arts and other vibrant programs contributes
to the creation of well-rounded and engaged students who are passionate
about learning.
Mission
The YES Foundation funds
and is an advocate for high-quality, inspiring, engaging arts and
other educational programs for the students of the Ross Valley School
District. YES is a collaboration of parents, teachers, administrators,
and community members dedicated to:
•
Securing the financial
resources necessary to bridge the gap between available governmental
educational funding and the funding necessary to provide educational
opportunities so that all children have the chance to be inspired
and to excel.
•
Working collaboratively
with the district to identify program needs, set program priorities,
and develop excellent programs.
Core Values
Community
Communities are responsible
to their children for the quality of their education.
Self- Expression
Children thrive in an
educational environment that promotes engaged learning and provides
diverse opportunities to develop skills for self-expression.
Diversity
Public education should
include exposure to a range of subjects and learning experiences
beyond a minimum core curriculum funded by the state.
Equity
The programs YES funds
are district-wide, providing equitable opportunities to all RVSD
students.
Ownership
YES will champion the
programs funded by discretionary dollars, playing an active role
in ensuring their quality and sustainability.
